Plastic Primer

Description:

Specialist Paints Plastic Primer is a low solid, fast drying; transparent ready for use primer designed to provide adhesion to a wide range of plastics and is ready to spray. Clear in appearance. Plastic Primer should be used only on those plastic parts that have no existing primer or other coating applied.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Thorough preparation and cleaning is important when painting plastic components to remove silicone-mold release agents and other contaminants. 

MIXING:

Supplied ready for use.

GUN SET UP:

Conventional (Gravity): 1.4mm – 1.8mm

HVLP (Gravity): 1.0mm – 1.4mm

(Depending on the size of object being painted)

AIR PRESSURE:

6 — 10 psi max @ the cap

APPLICATION:

HVLP Guns are recommended. Strain the paint into the paint gun.

• Apply 1 double coat
• Allow 10 -15 minutes flash time

FLASH TIME/DRY TIMES @ 72ºF / 22.2ºC:

Allow flash 10 - 15 minutes flash time between coats. This can vary depending on the air temperature and air movement. Ensure it is dry before top coating.
